Yellowstone - Day 5 & 6 of our 2021 vacation

On Day 5 we headed out early from Old Faithful.  We had the full day to make the loop to the Silver gate entrance so we took our time and stopped at all the major stops that our GyPsy app told us about.  There were many more geyers to see!  I even walked to see the Grand while Gary sat in the vehicle.  He said he had no interest of seeing steam coming out of the ground. 😢  I tried to tell him it was way more than that!  He said he would just see it through my pictures.  He said he's knees could not take the walking.  He also vowed to get in shape once we got back home!  Imagine that! After I've fussed at him for years.  He use to jog and walk with me years ago, but stopped.  Now he's out of breath to just walk 10 minutes.

Anyway, I went ahead and took another zillion of pictures.  Everything was so cool! I enjoyed being out in the open seeing all of God's beauty!  Here are some more pictures of geyers..

There was also a hike to go up high and see this from a better viewing spot, but I didn't take the hike.  I figured Gary had waited long enough in the vehicle for me.

Lots of bison everywhere! we saw like a million it seemed.

We finally ended up in Mammoth and decided to exit the park to see the famous Roosevelt entrance.  Roosevelt did a lot in his time to preserve the park.  Gardiner was a cute little town and of course I had to get a picture by the Montana sign.

We were able to sit down in a restaurant outside the gate in Gardiner.  Gary was so excited. LOL  We had a nice late lunch and then returned back into the park and headed on towards Silver Gate.  I really enjoyed the scenery on this side of the park more so than the scenery on the other side where we had drove towards Canyon Village.  This side was beautiful open fields and mountains.  The weather were also perfect.  Very cool in the mornings and the highs in the afternoons only in the 70s.  We were both loving it!

We arrived at the Silver Gate Entrance late in the evening.  Even though we exited the park, It was like we had gone back in time.  The town was only like 2 miles from the entrance.  One small restaurant and one small store where we checked in for our 2 night cabin stay.  And again... no TV in our room and No internet... let's say Gary was thrilled again.  LOL  However, as long as you sat out front of the store, you could use their internet so we did that for awhile and also ate across the street at the only restaurant.  It was very good!  We were in the bed early because we had a sunrise tour the next morning to go look for animals and they were picking us up at 5am.

More to come....
